Money talks. We know that—that’s why we now have a pay estimate on most of the jobs on the Triage job board (disclaimer: there are a few jobs that we’re contractually unable to show pay, but those are few and far between).
If you’re looking for a job in the cities with the best paying travel nurse jobs, head over to the Triage job board. Sort by Weekly Gross Pay and specialty and you’ll be able to find the highest paying travel nurse jobs for your specific skill set. While we can’t go over every specialty, here are a couple of the highest paying cities for travel nurses to get you started. These assignments are valid as of our publish date, but information can change quickly!
Highest Paying Cities for Travel Nurses: Norfolk, VA
Norfolk, VA has quite a few travel nurse jobs that pay over $4000 each week, with current openings in Peds ER and multiple openings for cath lab RNs. Other cities in VA with highly paid positions include Falls Church, Leesburg, Winchester, Fairfax, Roanoke and Richmond. While the cost of living in Virginia can be on the higher end, it’s still possible to find an extended stay hotel for about $500 a week. If you’re looking for something different, there are quite a few choices on Airbnb starting at $850 for a room and up to $2200 a month for a tiny house that will be all yours.
Highest Paying Cities for Travel Nurses: Portland, OR
Portland, OR is another spot with quite a few highly paying travel nurse jobs. If you’re a OR RN, labor and delivery RN, a CVOR or a house supervisor, you’re in luck in Portland. Other spots in Oregon with well-paying positions include Salem, Medford, Springfield, Newport, Hermiston and McMinnville. An extended stay hotel in Oregon can be as low as $600 a week, but a quick Airbnb search shows plenty of housing options starting at $700 a month for a room and up to $2500 a month for an entire condo.
Highest Paying Cities for Travel Nurses: Boston, MA
Come to Beantown for some highly paid travel nurse jobs, just don’t call it that because apparently the locals aren’t really fans of the nickname. Boston and its neighboring communities of Cambridge and Worcester have psychiatric, OR, cath lab, NICU, ER and CVICU positions all over $4000 a week. Rooms in Boston are a little higher, running about $800 a week for an extended stay, but Airbnb offers a number of options starting slightly over $2000 a month for a private condo. If you rent a room or a suite in a home, you can reduce your housing expenses even more.
While these aren’t the only highly paid cities for travel nurses, Norfolk, Portland and Boston are all good places to start your search. Want to make it easier?
