Help Desk Specialist

The role of an IT Coordinator will be to perform both technical and administrative tasks to ensure the functionality and efficiency of our systems and network. They must be critical thinkers and problem solvers while providing end-user support.

Major Position Responsibilities

  • Provide tier 1 support cross-campus for desktop issues
  • Manage IT set up of new users and new workstations
  • Infrastructure network support as needed
  • Assistance with Software system support
  • Working with vendors
  • Support technology
  • Assist with technical training


Required Skills

  • Excellent communication, written and verbal, and interpersonal skills
  • Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Good at following instructions and working independently
  • Good organizational skills and time management skills are necessary
  • Good prioritization and multi-tasking skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to analyze and resolve work problems
  • Discipline to remain focused to meet deadlines


Education and Experience

  • Bachelors/Associates degree preferred
  • Prior experience as IT Coordinator or similar role
  • Solid knowledge of IT systems and applications
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair issues

  • Requires ongoing coordination, communication and/or team problem solving between departments or functional areas for work production or service quality.
