Billing Specialist/Team Lead

General Responsibilities

  • Manage 3-7 team members
  • Monitor the quality and quantity of team members’ daily work
  • Provide instruction and feedback to team members to improve efficiency
  • Utilize all resources by delegating appropriate tasks to team members
  • Assist team members with questions they have by challenging them to critically think until they arrive at the best answer
  • Develop the knowledge and skills of team members to obtain greater performance and professional growth
  • Identify, perform, and/or coordinate training to ensure all team members are fully equipped to complete all job responsibilities
  • Monitor and record inter-departmental issues and concerns in regards to communication and policies
  • Monitor team members for optimum capacity, provide feedback on hiring needs and be innovative on methods to reduce costs
  • Provide positive encouragement and identify opportunities for recognition of billing team members
  • Set goals for team members and prioritize time between individual work and their team members
  • Daily evaluation of all activity by the team ensuring the individual and team goals are being achieved
  • Resolve daily issues and conflicts that may be presented by team members and other employees as it relates to the team/team members
  • Perform all Billing Specialist duties for overflow of placements of team’s assigned clients
  • Work with Finance leadership team to promote best practices, problem-solve, ensure consistency, and build relationships between campuses
  • Contribute to the department and company with additional projects

 

Required Skills

  • Strong ability to professionally communicate, both verbally and in writing
  • Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Strong ability to extrapolate from written procedures and policies
  • Exhibit a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations independently
  • Ability to consistently demonstrate poise, tact, and diplomacy
  • Strong ability to lead and direct the work of others
  • Ability to coach team members to work through situations and achieve goals

 

Education and Experience

  • The minimum education required for this position is an Associate’s Degree or professional experience. A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
  • Leadership experience preferred.

Work Schedule

  • This position is a salary-paid position, with shifts being an 8-hour workday for a 40-hour workweek.
