We have many Traveling Medical Professionals all over the country that work in some very cool locations. Being part of the Triage team means you’re part of our family and to celebrate our family, we decided to feature one of our traveling medical professionals each month on our blog and through our social media channels. Let’s get to know each other a little better!

Meet Kayla, an ICU Travel Nurse that’s been traveling for 4 years now!

“Kayla has been a traveler with Triage for several years. As one of my first travelers, Kayla was a new recruiter’s dream – she worked hard, was always upfront and honest, and she did her very best to keep me on my toes.

Kayla has a wonderfully upbeat personality – it doesn’t matter how difficult the assignment is or how long she might wait for an interview, Kayla always keeps a smile and looks to the positive side of every situation.

Kayla is also an active member of the Gypsy Nurse community and constantly promotes the Triage experience to the many travelers she interacts with. She has been a fantastic ambassador and represents everything we look for in a Triage traveler.” – Aaron K., Account Manager

We asked Kayla to answer a few questions about working at Triage, how she spends her free time, a few of her favorite things and a few other questions to give us a better look into what Kayla is all about! Here are her responses:

How long have you been traveling? I have been an ICU travel nurse for 4 years.

Why Triage? Triage actually found me, but I am so glad they did. I was looking for a new agency and had big dreams of going to California. Triage turned out to be an amazing company that fit all of my needs. I found an amazing recruiter who was honest, transparent, always looked out for my best interests, and didn’t mind talking for hours trying to find me the perfect contract. Triage has always exceeded my expectations in every way.

How do you spend your days off? I am a travel addict. I am usually exploring new places or spending my down time planning new adventures. I also enjoy boating, kayaking, motorcycles, and my newest hobby of snowboarding.

What is one thing still on your bucket list? To see all the Natural Wonders of the World.

What is one food you could never give up? Life without tacos is like no life at all!

If you were stuck at one age forever, what age would you want to be? Why? 30s. Wiser than in your 20s, more money, and young enough to enjoy it.

What are 3 of your favorite movies? Goodfellas, A Beautiful Mind, Lord of the Rings

What talent/skill do you wish you had? I wish I could draw, paint, and create beautiful artwork. I am fascinated by those who artistically inclined.

What fortune do you hope comes in your next fortune cookie? “You will soon find someone to travel the world with.”

If you could give your younger self advice, what would you say? All those things you are scared to do, do them now. Don’t be so hard on yourself, it all works out. Never pass on a new adventure.
