Our many travelers across the country mean the world to us, and we’re thankful to have them on our team. We’re always looking for ways to say show our appreciation, from the the benefits you deserve to our latest holiday giveaway. To celebrate our travelers even more, we’re featuring one of our traveling medical professionals each month on our blog and social media channels!

This month’s spotlight goes to Jawana, a traveling nurse who has been with Triage almost four years!

“Jawana has been with Triage since 2014 and has shown to be one of the greatest assets to us! She continues to showcase her skill set while on assignment as well as being a compassionate RN to her patients. She has gotten outstanding reviews from not only her managers/directors, but her patient families as well, even getting a personal reference from a husband whose wife she took care of! Jawana’s personality can light up a room and she is one of the most self-less people I know. Jawana, you are truly a great person, a great friend, and I am so happy to partner with you!” -Robyn

How long have you been traveling?

3 years 9 months

Why Triage?

Well, I had contemplated traveling for 2 years, read up on it and did some research. I made

a list of companies and decided what would be my deciding factor in choosing a specific company. It came down to the recruiter. A recruiter is to a staffing agency like an RN is to a hospital, the backbone of patient care. Robyn Reinig was the only recruiter that gave me her personal cell number out of the 23 companies/recruiters I interviewed. I felt at ease knowing I would be able to reach her day, night and weekends in the event I needed her. I have been with her and Triage ever since and have no reason to shop around. Why do I need multiple companies when I have the best in ONE.

What accomplishment are you most proud of?

Easy one here, that would be obtaining my RN. I had several previous degrees but my RN was the one I was most proud of because it was my lifelong dream.

How do you spend your days off?

It really depends on where my assignment is located. If near home, I spend time with family, errands and working out. If my assignment is hundreds of miles away then I sightsee

and stay busy seeing this beautiful country. I am a “bloom where ya blown” kinda gal.

What is the one food you could never give up?

Salad with ranch dressing

If you were stuck at one age forever, what age would you want to be? Why?

34 because that would mean I would still have my mother around and she would always be alive if time were frozen.

If you could give your younger self advice, what would you say?

Protect your skin, heart and live a positive life. Let go of people that bring you down and realize that every mistake is a learning curve. Spend more time with my parents and family. Always pay it forward when given the opportunity.

What do you think is the greatest invention of all time?

The air conditioner because menopause makes me feel like I am in a constant furnace burning from the inside out.
